MADISON — A Madison building committee approved a $119,462.61 payment to release retention held for a project's plumbing contractor, while leaving mechanical and building-management-system issues unresolved. Project coordinator Adam told the committee, "I wish to say that it wasn't typical, but it's also not ideal," regarding persistent BMS problems involving equipment programming and electrical draws. He said roughly $325,000 in retention remains unpaid among other subcontractors pending closeout.
Member Chad read the approved motion into the record and member Graham seconded it; the vote was unanimous. Adam also reported a pending state review of the project's final change order, calling it the last item needed before the committee can begin final financial consolidation for grant closeout over the next couple of months.
